Hello everyone!
I made a Master Chief costume with a rocket launcher for Haloween out of cardboard last year. I know it is really, really late, but, better late than never, right?
Anyway, I went to the Sawgrass Mills Mall (Florida) as Master Chief and filmed it (I can't show that to you yet because it is on a dvd and I haven't put it up on youtube yet. I'll try to get it up next weekend) After a while we got kicked out because "no toy weapons allowed" (ironically they sell plasma rifles in that same mall) So we went to Coral Square and we asked a security guard and he said everything is fine except for the weapon. Later on another security guard told me I couldn't wear the helmet. I would have explained how a different security guard said yes but it's hard for people to understand what I'm saying when I have the costume on. While I was exiting the mall (because we all know Master Chief doesn't show his face) I could see everyone was sad and I heard a few people say "aw....man!" I also went trick or treating, to Tate's Comic Books and More, where at the front desk I found out that during Haloween weekend there was going to be a Florida comicon with Steve Downes!!!! I was so excited. I went on Sunday as Master Chief and I took a picture with Steve Downes and he signed my helmet.(I have all this filmed). There I did take off my helmet so I could have it signed and so I could see everything better ( you can see through the visor but it isn't crystal clear).
On homecoming week at my school we were allowed to dress up as our "favorite holiday" So I chose Haloween and although I couldn't wear the whole costume I wore the helmet and painted on a shirt part Chief's Armor. Let me know if you want to see it so that I can send you the link next weekend (hopefully). The pictures are on this website as a slideshow (click below)
